For those of you who do not know, Lake Champlain lies between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York and reaches up to Quebec Canada. It is one of the largest lakes in the US with approximately 435 square miles and can be as deep as 400 feet! I spent most of my 4th of July weeks up at the lake as a child and almost every other weekend througout the summer. This property started out as a great deal back in the 70's with a small trailer and outhouse on the lot, and later became a "salt box" style summer camp throughout the years. Now, my parents are making it in to their permanent summer home with an addition, a front porch and a lakeside porch for enjoying the beautiful NY views. Their good friend Bill has basically built the house from the ground up with the help of my dad, my brother, and various other friends and family. We're hoping to bring Jillian there as often as we can so she can enjoy and appreciate the scenery, peace, and simplicity of such a great state as Vermont. Bridport is the town but it's only a short drive away from Middlebury and Burlington. Plus, Ticonderoga NY is also close by so once she's old enough we'd like to take her over to see the fort.
Here's a view of the house from the water (it's the one in the middle of the photo, at the top of the big lawn, with the four windows across the front)

Here's a shot of the Crown Point bridge that takes you from VT to NY (this was the bridge from the movie "What Lies Beneath" with Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfieffer where they lose cell reception--surprise surprise)

Here we are canoeing:

We caught some amazing sunsets, too!
