We trekked back to FL for a friend's wedding last weekend. Christine and I worked together at Disney (she's still a cast member in Downtown Disney Guest Relations, along with her husband Vinny--he gets to escort the "big" VIP people like CEO Bob Eiger and formally Michael Eisner.) Ironically, Jillian was born on Christine's birthday! We still call eachother by our stage names: She was "Claudia Jeannette" and I was "Felene." (The name "Faline" is Bambi's girlfriend, so it was fun to be "Felene" on the phone with the guests. They used to say "Hey, you have the same name as Bambi's girlfriend." I loved that...my story about how I got my name was that my mother just loved the movie so she named me after "Faline." Ohhhh, the magic of Disney. And, yes, if you don't know--when you telephone Walt Disney World you'll be talking with someone using a stage name--one that is unique so that they are the only person with that name. I'm giving away a big secret here! You may even get "Flower" on the phone or even "Thumper" if you're lucky.)
Christine and Vinny had their wedding reception at Disney's Yacht Club Resort...one of our favorite Disney resorts. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception! We had such a wonderful time being away just the two of us. This was the first time we left Jillian, too. She was having a ball with Grammy, or "Mi-Me" as she says (Mike's mom.) We missed her, but boy did we enjoy ourselves all weekend! We hit Epcot's Food and Wine Festival, Magic Kingdom and the Typhoon Lagoon water park. We kept seeing families in the parks with strollers and each time we said "isn't this great...not having Jillian with us!?!" We were so free to do whatever without a schedule or a nap time to fit in. We really did miss her...and when we got home, we noticed she had grown up a little while we were away. :-( Amazing.
