Jillian's 3rd Birthday Adventure: Camping!

For Jillian's birthday we took her camping for the first time. Mind you, August is a hot month, so we opted for a "camping cabin." It had a bunk bed, a double bed, TV, fridge and A/C. We still had to walk to the potty...so it still counts as camping! Anyway, it was at Jelly Stone Campground in Haggerstown MD which is a Yogi Bear themed resort. We had an absolute blast! Jillian LOVED our cabin, loved the campfire, loved the mini golf, the pool, the fish pond, and she even did the Macarena dance with the "tweens" during the campground dance party. We ran in to Yogi, Bo-Bo and Cindy Bear a few times for hugs and high-fives too. I highly recommend the Jelly Stone campgrounds...we can't wait to go back!

As for being 3, Jillian is quite a lovely little girl. She's smart, very social, has good manners and loves to negotiate most anything. She will talk off your ear from morning to night with the most interesting topics. Jillian's favorite movie is The Little Mermaid and you can often hear her singing the entire "Part of your world" song...along with all the movements and dancing that Ariel does. I believe "theater camp" will be in her future. Jillian will be starting preschool this fall and we couldn't be more excited for her. She's been talking about it all summer and we finally picked out her LL Bean backpack (after prancing through the store to make sure it fit just right!) She has already begun writing her name (Jilli) and lately she asks about everyday words and what letter they start with..."Mommy, what does L L L Lollipop spell with?" I haven't figured out how to tell her that "Car" really does start with a C because she's convinced that it's a K based on the sounds. I'm sure she'll get it sorted out in due time. We are so very proud of her and can't wait for all the things that come with being 3!
