National Harbor

We took a little day trip to visit the National Harbor this past weekend. Rumor has it that Disney has a contract to build a new resort there--but we didn't see any indication that they've started work. The "Awakening" sculpture is there--which we remebered as being part of our 8th grade DC trip when it was over by the museums. We walked along the water and enjoyed the boats and cooled off in the Gaylord Resort. They had a beautiful water fountain that we watched for a while and went around to look at all the sand sculptures. The mermaid sculpture was Jillian's favorite!
