Cherry Blossom Festival in DC

We spent last Saturday strolling around the Tidal Basin in DC to check out the beautiful Cherry Blossoms. We couldn't have asked for a prettier day (maybe less wind) but with the sun shining on the flowers and the clear sky our photos came out great! I'm hoping to head back in to town over the next week to catch the tulips in bloom. I've scoped out a few hot-spots where you can find hundreds of tulips in all different colors. I'm ready!

The White House and beautiful Tulips:

Picnic (you can see the tip of the Washington monument behind the leaves)

Yellow Daffodils

I wish I could remember which setting I used for this photo...it came out great!

Me and Jillian with the Jefferson Memorial

This could have been Marine One, but at the time Pres. Obama was overseas. We thought maybe the first daughters were returning from a playdate?

This is of Jillian last year...

...same jacket, same tree!

Jillian was having fun posing for photos...finally!

She found this stick and kept saying "I'm just sweeping...I'm cleaning!"

We took a long walk toward home, rather than taking the train the whole way, and Jillian passed out for a good nap. The weather was warm and breezy--perfect for a nap!
