We had such a blast trick-or-treating with Jillian this year. Last year we had her dressed up (as a lady bug) and greeted all the kids who came to our door so this was our first year going out to knock on doors. We pretended to trick-or-treat at home for a few days prior to Halloween and I think Jillian assumed that once she knocked on the door that it would open within 3 seconds (only because when we pretended we'd open the door right away.) So, when we were out at the houses she'd knock and turn right around and say "It's not opening!!!" We were all laughing and had to remind her to be patient because people were probably running to the door and it may take a few seconds or so. Too cute! A few people commented on her red shoes and she was so proud to put her heal out and show them off. Mike and I were so pleased with her manners too--she always said Trick-or-Treat and also Thank You at each house. A few times I caught her taking 2 pieces of candy but she was really good about putting one back. (Boy do they learn early!) We must have hit about 20 houses (all townhouses side by side so it was easy to do) and we had to coax her back inside by telling her that we had come to the last house that had candy. She had about 3 dum-dum lollipops and a little bag of M&M's once we got home and thankfully she hasn't asked for any candy since. Therefore--Mommy and Daddy made out like bandits! :-)
We walked around with our neighbors: Ari, Samuel, and Neela
Tula and Jillian

This lady LOVED Jillian's costume
Dorothy and the Tin Man! (actually, he's a robot.)
