Biking Adventures

We are having so much fun with our new bike trailer! Jillian helped me put it together when it arrived in the box with helped ease her in to wanting to ride in it. She's not one to enjoy being "closed in" and I was a little anxious about how she may react to wearing a bicycle helmet, too. But, since she helped pick out the helmet and helped put the trailer together (which was really very easy) she was happy to go for a spin. When Mike pedals up hill she'll yell "Go Daddy, Go! Go Daddy, Go!" And once when Mike was passing me on a trail I heard Jillian say "Be careful Daddy." So cute! Anyway, we are having so much fun exploring all the trails in the DC area. Our most favorite so far is the Mt. Vernon trail which runs along the Potomac River past the airport (yep--that great airpark we love to go to watch the planes) and through the historic town of Alexandria VA. It's a perfect trail because it's several miles long (like 20+) but it has marinas, parks, and shops all along the way so we can stop if we need to. Plus, there are views of the DC monuments too! I really like the part of the trail that goes through the woods in the shade and over little wooden bridges and along side the water. We love it!

Jillian looks so cute with her bike helmet on. I love your new bike trailer! It sounds like you have many trails to choose from. What fun!
