Down on the farm...

For years my grandmother has been spending winters down in Virginia with her brother, my great Uncle Charlie (both in their 80's.) Their sister and brother-in-law, my great Auntie Dottie and Uncle Ray, also live nearby so they often get together for bingo and shopping during the winter months. When my mom was a kid, she and her sister, would spend their summers playing down on the farm (they grew up in the Bronx) and would help with the cows and the tobacco fields and just have a good time. So, we recently brought Jillian down to visit and to experience a little bit of what her grandmother did as a kid. We spent time running around the wide open property and walking through the woods. Auntie Dottie and Grandma Irene had a feast of food for us and Jillian just loved 11 year old Ike the dog. It was a nice break from DC and a nice feeling of spring weather, too. Mike wasn't able to join us because he had to do some extra work for the Gecko--but there's always next time!

Here's a perfect shot of a little game Jillian plays with her hands...it's called "Where'd it go?" She says "Dit-go, dit-go, dit-go????"

Jillian has been collecting all kinds of things lately--including these acorns

One of my favorite expressions Jillian has:

Jillian loved Ike soooo much! He's a very calm outside dog and allowed Jillian to play in his little fenced in piece of real estate.
